"I'm
a songwriter rather than a technical musican although I have been playing
guitar now several years! I have many influences from African music
to folk, jazz and the latest pop hits and bands such as Snow Patrol
and Kings of Leon plus Fleetwood Mac and The Eurythmics & special
songwriters such as Steve Knightly, Mike Silver, Billy Joel, George
Michael, Elton John and The Beatles. I also liked David Grey's White
Ladder album, love Show of Hands, Roxy Music, the Doobie Brothers, Michael
Jackson, and Led Zepplin.

Fludgate - Vocals
"I have been
involved with bands and singing since I can remember, taking vocal lessons
at an early age and being steered towards musical theatre. However,
I chose a different path and have worked with local cover bands and
artists ranging from pop, funk, rock and dance music. I love to be challenged
vocally and singing in folk clubs was an early highlight for me. It
was there I was truly inspired by hearing some of the most genuine artists
giving the most memorable and heart felt performances that remain with
me to this day. My influences include Nina Simone, Carol King, Simon
and Garfunkel with my favourite bands of the moment being U2 and Keane."

Joules
Killgallon on lead guitar
I
started my musical career at the tender age of 3 when my Mom bought
me my first instrument . . . a metal drum! Once mastered, I made it
my mission to bash the living daylights out of it, especially when things
went quiet, just to make sure everyone knew I was about. I only had
that drum for a week before it was replaced by a rubber yo yo!
I decided I was going to be a guitarist after playing drums from the
age of 9. I was 13 when I had my epiphany and started with an old acoustic
which was a battered old thing. I had to get my parents, who had forked
out on a full adult drum kit 3 years earlier to once again fork out
more cash to satisfy my new indulgence. With drum kit sold, I became
the proud owner of a 12 string guitar! I continued to play drums, never
quite getting the noisey Erk inside of me until I was 18.
College daze saw me uplift my skill as a guitarist by joining a jazz
band and a sixties type original band. Both honed my playability as
a lead and rhythm guitarist. In essence I became hooked and I now had
a semi acoustic doubling my guitar collection!
Leaving college I joined a band in Telford called Spectrum and gigged
and toured with them for 3 years before joining a funk band called Raw.
Our manager was a guy called John Camp. He was the bassist for Renaissance,
a 70s band who had hits, one such one called The Northern Lights. I
got into session playing by the back door, starting at the Sinewave
studios in Birmingham which lead to sessions in London over a 4 year
period. I had a Fender Strat and a Gibson Les Paul, plus my 12 string
at this time and because I had a 12 string I got loads of work.
After sessioning I went back to being a quiet family man, teaching guitar,
rather than playing on stage. I taught over a 12 year period, then got
hauled out of retirement by my great friend Max McKee and we formed
the Killa Kangorrillaz. This was by far the best rock covers band I
had ever been involved with. It was a hectic 6 years of gigging, partying,
having a laugh, just general awesome times and the memories still make
me smile. The mickey taking was brutal, but so, so funny. I moved down
to Blandford from my hometown of Telford, Shropshire in 2005 and the
music took me in another direction. I joined a Celtic folk band called
the Tors, which after 10 months fizzled out to nothing, which was a
shame as the music was good, but keeping members together was always
a major problem. Next came Roadhouse Bound, a dirty down heavy metal
original rock outfit and in that band I felt most content. The music
was spot on and I’m sure with the right management that band would
have made the big time. Roadhouse are doing their last gig in August
for the same reasons the Tors couldn’t stick together. A real
shame in my opinion.
I have been privileged to have such a musically fun time and I thank
my lucky stars for bringing me here, relatively unscathed and still
hanging onto my sanity. My influences change. Essentially I am a rock
and roller. I love heavy metal, especially Sabbath, Maiden and Lizzie.
I love diversity and the challenges it brings. Peachy Jane will give
me those challenges. Beca has such a lovely touch to writing songs which
are not easy to play, but who said anything about easy playing and good
tracks having the monopoly on great sound? Just come and see us and
find out what we’re all about.
